POSITION:                Information Technology Faculty

SALARY:                   Commensurate with education and training on Faculty Scale

JOB SUMMARY Teach Information Technology and other classes qualified to teach for Oglala Lakota College.  Develop and implement the Information Technology Degree Program.

 

JOB DUTIES:

  1. Teach a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester.
  2. Assist with development, implementation, and refinement of information technology coursework, including incorporation of Lakota Perspective in all classes.
  3. Assist with counseling, advising, and keeping of student records.
  4. Assist with growth and development of future distance education.
  5. Supervise students at on-the-job training and internship areas.
  6. Serve on one of Oglala Lakota College Standing Committees.
  7. Assist with Oglala Lakota College assessment processes.
  8. Assist in keeping in compliance with the Oglala Lakota faculty duties 61-310.
  9. Fulfill all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  1. Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Information Technology, minimum of Bachelors plus 18 graduate hours required and/or two years of experience.
  2. Educational credentials with an emphasis in Information Technology and/or Management Information Systems
  3. Knowledge of open-source systems (Linux, BSD etc.) preferred.
  4. Applicable IT Certifications are preferred.
  5. Experience with Internet course development.
  6. Experience in development of laboratory setup for Information Technology teaching environment.
  7. Ability to work with staff, faculty, students in a professional manner.
  8. Ability to take and pass alcohol/drug pre-screening employment test and background check.
  9. Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
  10. Knowledge of Lakota history, culture, philosophy and language.
