Job Details:

Job Summary: Provides support to Corporate IT network infrastructure, direct customer support, RMA management, and new product development. This position typically works under general supervision and direction. Incumbents of this position will regularly exercise discretionary and substantial decision-making authority.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains detailed network documents, including physical and logical network diagrams, routing details, IP address assignments, and network change logs.
  • Contributes to published documents such as design specifications, system administration guides, product guides, and reference designs.
  • Monitors and analyzes LAN-WAN performance and implements performance optimizations.
  • Assists in troubleshooting network problems and outages.
  • Captures network traffic as necessary and facilitates analysis of packets.
  • Participates in evaluations of new hardware and software.
  • Plans, documents, and implements network component changes as part of new network deployments or hardware/technology refreshes.
  • Opens support cases with vendors or service providers as necessary. Manages cases to resolution.
  • Ensures that network equipment is covered by support contracts as appropriate and that necessary personnel have access to contract details and are authorized to open support cases.
  • Captures and analyzes network requirements from application engineers, systems administrators, operations teams, and business units and transforms them into operable and secure network changes.
  • Professionally interacts with customers during network implementations, acceptance tests, and troubleshooting.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Four-year college degree in an Information Technology specialty, Computer Science, or other technical field preferred. OR equivalent years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Two (2)+ years of work experience in Information Technology.
  • Current Network+, CCNA, or higher Cisco certification.
  • Requires good interpersonal skills and ability to provide professional customer service.
  • Must have in-depth knowledge of communication protocols, general networking concepts, switches, routers, and other communication devices.
  • Must understand the basic configurations of Cisco network switching and routing devices.
  • Must be able to utilize and contribute to the development of network management and monitoring systems.
  • Must be able to quickly understand the types of application traffic that traverses the networks.
  • Must be able to use Visio and other Office applications to clearly represent layer 1 and 2 connectivity, layer 3 logical configurations, and other networking relationships.
  • Some travel may be required.

Cubic Pay Range:

$74,009.66 - $101,763.28 + benefits.

The Cubic pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
