Essential Job Duties

The position will involve assisting members of the lab with ongoing projects related to oomycete-based diseases of plants. Activities may include (but are not limited to):
  • Maintenance of the laboratory culture collection
  • Maintenance of plants in a greenhouse setting
  • Preparation and extraction of DNA samples
  • Receiving and processing infected leaf material for isolation and identification
  • Preparing and interpreting PCRs
  • General lab maintenance, including washing glassware and preparing growth media
