The position will involve assisting members of the lab with ongoing projects related to oomycete-based diseases of plants. Activities may include (but are not limited to):
- Maintenance of the laboratory culture collection
- Maintenance of plants in a greenhouse setting
- Preparation and extraction of DNA samples
- Receiving and processing infected leaf material for isolation and identification
- Preparing and interpreting PCRs
- General lab maintenance, including washing glassware and preparing growth media

- Bachelor’s degree in a biological science with three years experience

- Proficiency with Excel and R
