ND Learning’s Office of Digital Learning is seeking a highly-motivated and energetic Senior Digital Learning Project Manager to join a dynamic team working at the forefront of digital learning in higher education. In this role, the project manager will work closely with team members and stakeholders to coordinate the project portfolio and manage key projects, serving as a driving force for the focus and success of our team.

ND Learning’s Office of Digital Learning is Notre Dame’s core provider of custom-made online and digital learning experiences. The ODL team is comprised of learning designers, creative & media professionals, and project managers. The interdisciplinary team partners with faculty to envision, design, produce, and maintain experiences that create successful learning for all students. What You’ll Do
The Senior Digital Learning Project Manager is a key contributor to the creation of excellent learning experiences in the Office of Digital Learning. Your work will cross the Office of Digital Learning’s learning design and media teams with a particular focus on end-to-end online course development projects. Reporting to the Director of the Office of Digital, you will:

  • Manage complex learning initiatives of varying sizes and complexity (including but not limited to online course development) from end to end, ensuring timely and effective movement from ideation through design, development, delivery, and evaluation;
  • Manage the team’s project portfolio by onboarding, monitoring, and closing out projects; Organize work and focus the team on what needs to be accomplished.
  • Manage multiple, sometimes ambiguous or emerging projects and see them through from initial conception to implementation and evaluation; Adapt to circumstances and allow flexibility in processes.
  • Leverage project management software (e.g., Asana, Trello, Jira, Microsoft Project) to effectively plan, organize, and manage resources for complex projects, track progress, and ensure timely delivery of project deliverables.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with key stakeholders to define project scope, strategy, budget, and outcomes; identify critical resource expertise and target appropriate internal and/or external sources to ensure optimal outcome(s).
  • Utilize data analysis and visualization tools to generate insights and reports from project data and communicate them effectively to stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with faculty, informed by a deep understanding of academic schedules, workflows, and customary practices;
  • Plan, direct and coordinate projects and expectations with the team; assign tasks and identify issues for resolution to ensure optimal team effectiveness and on-time completions within budget; proactively handle project issues and/or risks.
  • Establish and continually improve processes and infrastructure for managing the team’s project portfolio and individual projects
  • Prepare and maintain all project status reports and schedules; track milestones/deliverables, critical paths and dependencies; re-set expectations as needed in consideration of project progress/outcomes.
  • Coach project team members both internal and contracted to ensure optimal outcomes; Build and maintain effective relationships vital to success while communicating a positive attitude;

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years related experience; 3 of which are in project management, or any equivalent combination of experience and /or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing systems, strategies and processes for managing a project portfolio and individual projects.
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles, change management practices, and techniques needed for managing large projects.
  • Ability to manage large projects, including ability to scope project and resources needs, clarify roles and responsibilities, take action to mitigate conflict and risks, and ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Experience working at a higher education institution.
  • Demonstrated expertise with project management software.
  • Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP).
