We are looking for a great teammate with pertinent NCAA experience to help lead, strategically manage, and exercise the flexibility to quickly and efficiently adapt to legislative changes.

The Sr. Director of Compliance will serve as a department liaison to academic campus units such as Admissions, Academic Services for Student-Athletes, the Registrar, the Faculty Athletics Representative, Notre Dame International, the Graduate School, and Community Standards. The individual will specialize in student-athlete eligibility, overseeing the certification process. Additionally, this role will assist the Department with mandatory reporting obligations such as NCAA Sport Sponsorship, APR, and the Compliance Annual Report. Along with Academic Services for Student-Athletes, this individual will assist in educational impact efforts with College Deans and the Honesty Committee. Additionally, the position will represent the University in national conversations related to eligibility and transfers, particularly with the Conference and NCAA staff.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Oversight for all aspects of SA eligibility certification including amateurism, initial eligibility, and academic progress toward degree completion. Work closely with colleagues in Admissions, the Registrar, Academic Services for Student-Athletes, the Faculty Athletics Representative and Community Standards to ensure institutional, conference, and NCAA eligibility standards are met. Responsible for all waivers sought and violations reported related to academic initial and continuing SA eligibility. Periodically report on exceptions and rules violations to Senior Staff and the Athletic Director. Provide ongoing education to all constituents involved in eligiblity processes on-campus.
  • Supervision of Assistant Director of Compliance specializing in initial eligibility, roster management, and general rules education.
  • Create and routinely submit national reports related to NCAA Sport Sponsorship and Academic Performance. Assist the Director of Academic Services for Student-Athletes in drafting and submitting any waivers related to the Academic Progress Rate. Oversee the Athletics Compliance Annual Report.
  • Provide NCAA and ACC rules interpretations to coaches, student-athletes, and administrative staff affiliated with assigned teams.
  • Lead all aspects of the student-athlete transfer process including creating policy, providing education, communicating with student-athletes, submitting and matriculating student-athletes in the Transfer Portal, and periodic reporting to Senior Staff and the Athletics Director.
  • Work with the NIL Office to ensure NIL Disclosures are monitored / reported appropriately according to NCAA legislation.



Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree (4 years)
5 to 6 years experience within compliace

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the NCAA DI Compliance Experience for student-athletes.
  • Knowledge and understanding of NCAA and ACC compliance standards and reporting requirements.
  • Ability to develop and formulate working processes, policies, and procedures in areas of expertise.
  • Ability to design and implement systems necessary to collect, maintain, and analyze data.
  • Group communication and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of financial aid policies, procedures, and eligibility requirements.
  • Knowledge of university admissions policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Demonstrated organizational and management skills.
  • Research, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Computer literacy and database management skills.
  • Ability to foster a cooperative environment and to work in a collegial fashion with peers in other organizational units.
