Job Description

The Waldorf University Business Department is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time, tenure eligible faculty position. Position would begin with the Fall 2024 semester starting in August. Teaching will typically include courses from the disciplines of:
  • Accounting
  • Business Law
Full-time faculty load is typically 80% instructional and 20% administrative including committee work, academic advising, office hours, meetings, and other non-classroom activities.
 
Located in north central rural Iowa, Waldorf University has a residential enrollment of about 600 residential students. The University is focused on a mission of leadership development and community engagement opportunities that develop students into leaders for a diverse and global society. Waldorf provides an excellent opportunity to engage with students both in and outside of the classroom through small class sizes, clubs and organizations, mission trips and service to the University and community.
 
Requirements include a minimum of an MBA degree and CPA, or MBA and MS with an ability to demonstrate previous teaching of accounting at an undergraduate level. Second-career professionals are encouraged to apply. Ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the ability to instruct in the classroom, show passion in sharing experience and knowledge with the undergraduate student, and show interest not only the success of the student but their experience.

Preferred qualifications include the following:
  • Commitment to the development and welfare of undergraduate students both inside and outside of the classroom
  • Willing and able to use online learning platforms to support residential course for course content, communication, and backup instruction (Waldorf uses Blackboard)
  • Ability to relate well to students, faculty, and staff.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (both written and oral)
