OB/GYN Support Services Supervisor - 129005

Job Description

This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, which includes a combination of onsite and remote work. The onsite location will rotate between our Hillcrest and La Jolla locations.

DESCRIPTION

Provides immediate supervision to a unit or group of operational or technical employees. A portion of time may be spent performing individual tasks related to the unit; however, supervisory activities must constitute a primary part of the job. Supervises unit operations to ensure compliance with departmental or organizational policies, procedures, and defined internal controls. Ensures accountability and stewardship of department resources (operational, financial, and human) in compliance with departmental standards and procedures.

Supervises administrative staff performing routine and / or largely operational duties using established guidelines, procedures, and policies. Supervises day-to-day operations. Ensures quality control and compliance with established standards and procedures for assigned programs. Assigns, monitors and reviews progress and accuracy of work of staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Directly supervises administrative staff and provides significant input to staff performance and development, team building and communications, resolution of issues and conflicts, review and approval of work, and hiring and training employees.
  • Participates in developing and monitoring operational and budget processes, staff FTE, finance, human resources and space planning.
  • Supervises scheduling and administration of classroom instruction, e-learning programs, and student registration.
  • Advises manager on changes and improvements to Community Education programs.
  • Handles more complex issues raised by subordinates.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
  • Three (3) or more years of relevant experience.
  • Working knowledge of community education, technical education, and / or training and development programs.
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Effective leadership skills, including directing and developing staff members.
  • Ability to maintain effective professional relationships with clients and instructors.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Certified Childbirth Educator.
  • IBCLC certified.
  • Continuing education in related field.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $56,700 - $97,500 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $27.16 - $46.70

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
