Job Details:

Job Summary: Assigned to projects that involve complex electro-mechanical equipment installation and packaging. The complexity of assignments requires initiative and the ability to design independently with minimal technical direction. Performs all assignments in compliance with engineering and contractual requirements, and within budget and schedule constraints. May provide project coordination and technical guidance. This position typically works under general supervision and direction.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs engineering design work requiring individual creativity and application of advanced design techniques, including the use of two and three-dimensional computer-aided design (CAD) software and three-dimensional solid modelers, with consideration of practical fabrication techniques, availability of materials, interchangeability, and problems of related complexity.
  • May develop solutions to routine engineering problems including performing tolerance analyses.
  • Determines manpower/man-hour needs, and develops estimates-to-complete for assigned projects.
  • Attends meetings with engineering, manufacturing, and customer representatives related to design efforts.
  • Maintains related documentation and work records.
  • May give work assignments and check the work of other lower-level technicians and engineers.
  • May give advice and guidance for the direction of the design.
  • Coordinates with vendors and manufacturing on cost, availability, and schedule.
  • Prepares cost proposal estimates in support of new business.
  • Create 3-D via structures as library elements, support 3-D via impedance simulation, and work with Corp CAD to implement a new 3D element process flow.
  • Create correct by design interconnects to support high-speed simulations and then pass to Corp CAD to implement into the larger design file set.
  • Create direct report/control rapid prototype CCA designs that are quick turn in order to validate critical technological design implementations.
  • Maintain a direct report/control who can interface with the partner FAB supplier and Assembly for DFM, Raw Fab, and surface layer footprint Optimizations.
  • Work with Corp CAD to implement into the CAD library.
  • Maintain direct report/control RF/Digital Tech support to augment the HWEE team and rapid proto technology validation.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Two years of technical training, or equivalent, in drafting and engineering.
  • Eight (8)+ years of electro-mechanical drafting and design engineering experience including CAD experience.
  • Ability to use typical office automation products such as computer spreadsheets and word processing programs.
  • Proficiency in using CAD software is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering specifications and contractual requirements.
  • Capable of performing technical analyses.
  • Must be able to work long periods at a design workstation.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills required.

Cubic Pay Range:

$43.02 - $59.16 + benefits.

The Cubic pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
