Primary Purpose:

Process requests and provide consultation and assistance to internal and external customers regarding installation, removals, upgrades and additions of various forms of customer and company owned exterior lighting systems; investigate and resolve various operating, maintenance and account billing issues; assure accuracy and maintenance of related account data. Assist in planning and project management of changes and additions to external lighting systems; investigate and take actions to resolve customer billing and payment issues related to lighting accounts.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Process requests for service point locations, meter sets, energize and pole attachment orders, dusk to dawn lighting, joint meet requests and emergency orders. Investigate ownership of street lights and issue necessary orders for repairs. Maintain customer records and files. Assist in development of processes and procedures for resolving customer inquiries in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Partner with CI Services, Project Management and Construction departments to expedite completion of customer requests. Assist in developing and implementing processes, policies and procedures that will enhance and improve flow of information, project coordination and workflow between departments related to the installation, operation and management of external lighting and related systems.
  • Consult with external customers regarding installation, removal, upgrade and addition of various forms of exterior lighting and/or related systems. Function as primary point of contact with designated customers to improve operations, restore service and resolve lighting issues. Interact with contractors, private developers and homeowners associations on all external lighting related issues for installations on private streets.
  • Partner with other departments and external customers, governmental agencies and contractors in planning and coordination of additions and modifications to customer owned external lighting and related systems; communicate company policies and design details in conformance with company standards and governmental regulations. Keep informed of project progress to support timely completion of customer projects.
  • Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).

Hybrid Schedule:

  • Although the schedule may vary, typically this will allow the employee to work onsite three days per week and remotely on the remaining workdays.
  • Must reside in Southern California or be willing to relocate upon hire.

Required Qualifications:

  • H.S. Diploma/GED Required
  • Knowledge of business practices, accounting, and project coordination techniques normally acquired through college level courses.
  • 3+ Experience with increasing responsibility in customer service or a related field.
  • Must have a working knowledge of applicable tariffs, policies and standards relating to customer owned exterior lighting and related systems.
  • Requires ability to build and maintain good interpersonal relationships, excellent oral and written communication skills and strong customer focus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree Business, finance, accounting or a related field.
  • Ability to negotiate and resolve conflict is desirable.
