Associate Civil Engineer
Job Description
Kennedy Jenks is seeking an ambitious and service-oriented Associate Engineer with a civil or environmental engineering background. The Associate Engineer will play a vital role in evaluation and supporting design and construction of conveyance facilities relating to water, wastewater, recycled water, utility infrastructure projects and treatment process improvement projects. We are a multidisciplinary firm looking for interdisciplinary coordination skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and analysis; Prepare detailed design, specifications and drawings. Design calculations with support of senior team. Assist the Project Manager where needed.
- Provide technical support and expertise to multi-disciplinary project teams.
- Write technical reports and maintain accurate project records, reports and documentation.
- Project management; support projects from conception through construction coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams. Lead small projects and attend both internal and external meetings where necessary.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or similar engineering field.
- 5+ years of civil engineering experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Foundational knowledge in site layout, grading and drainage, and pipeline/yard piping design on projects ranging in size and complexity and an ability to grow this foundational knowledge. Project experience does not need to be in the Water, Wastewater or Environmental industries.
- Experience relevant software including Bluebeam, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil3D and Microsoft products.
- Knowledge of industry standards, codes and regulations.
- Strong technical writing skills.

Salary range for this position is anticipated to be $90,000 to $120,000, and may vary based upon education, experience, qualifications, licensure/certifications and geographic location.
