Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

Manages and develops the Logistical Support Section staff (including the Auto Services Technician, Institute Duty Personnel, and Student employees). Manages the daily operations necessary to maintain equipment, supplies, apparatus, and materials for fire, rescue, hazardous materials, and emergency medical service programs at the headquarters facility, 6 regional training offices and numerous remote sites across the state including the maintenance of 26 buildings and training props. In addition, serves as the coordinator for designated special events including citizen/group demonstrations and other similar activities managing all aspects of the personnel and resource requirements. Represents the Institute to various professional groups across the state.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the degree. 

Experience:
  • At least eight years of progressively responsible experience in facility coordination including at least three years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Experience operating in a customer service environment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge and experience related to training fire, rescue and emergency service personnel;
  • Knowledge and experience related to maintaining facilities, equipment, and resources at a fire and emergency services training center;
  • Knowledge and experience in procuring supplies and materials;
  • Knowledge and experience in maintaining inventories.

Additional Information:

The work location for this position is at MFRI Headquarters in College Park, MD.

This position requires the availability to work nights and weekends when needed to coordinate or assist with events at any of the seven MFRI statewide training facilities, as well as other EMS/Fire/ Rescue facilities.
