 The University of Florida Lastinger Center for Learning’s mission is to improve the quality of teaching, learning, and childcare. Recruitment

  • Supports Lastinger Center recruitment and hiring processes with tasks such as writing and updating job descriptions, posting positions, and internal approvals process.
  • Conduct interviews with candidates and serve the HR representative on hiring committees.
  • Serves as a talent acquisition advisor in developing and implementing effective recruitment and onboarding strategies.
  • Provides service excellence, ensuring that the recruitment process is managed in a professional and timely manner.
  • Coordinates activities for organizational recruiting such as places job announcements and attending job fairs.
  • Make recommendations to management regarding human resource issues such as staffing, recruitment, and employee relation.
  • Willingness and flexibility to adapt to frequent changes and requests.

Onboarding

  • Assists in developing recruitment and onboarding processes, and conducts thorough onboarding of new employees.
  • Coordinates the pre-employment screening process in a manner that complies with federal and state laws and university hiring policies and recruitment procedures.
  • Coordinates first-day onboarding between the college HR team and multiple teams within the center.
  • Assists in the planning and coordinating monthly in-person onboarding events.

Support HR Processes and Personnel needs

  • Maintain a current working knowledge of University’s policies and procedures to ensure the Center’s human resources programs are in alignment.
  • Maintain clear records.
  • Escalate employee and supervisor concerns to HR manager.
  • Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Communicates and interprets human resources policies and procedures for managers and employees.
  • Support center-wide professional development efforts.
  • Provide communication regarding UF updates (benefits, PTO, trainings, etc.)
  • Escalate employee and supervisor concerns to HR manager.

General Lastinger Center Office Support

  • Support Lastinger Center Office Managers as needed by purchasing office supplies, accepting, and processing deliveries, and providing direction for office Student Assistants.
  • Follow UF purchasing guidelines and process receipts promptly.

Hybrid work location policy:

Lastinger Center for Learning supports and promotes a healthy work-life balance. To achieve this, the Lastinger Center offers a flexible, hybrid work schedule that aligns with the university’s Flexibility in the Workplace Policy. Allowing employees to stagger arrival and departure times as necessary and to vary the number of workdays in the office so long as an employee’s FTE commitment is fulfilled within the university workweek. This policy also allows for occasional, incidental remote work based on individual circumstances.

Other duties as assigned.

Will travel for assigned business purpose minimally (1-2/quarter)


Expected Salary:

$55,000 - $65,000


Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Background or training with human resources strongly desired.
  • Recruiting and hiring experience strongly desired.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Effective communications.
  • Candidates should have superior interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills, superior oral and written communication skills, ability to work in a fast-paced business environment and ability to work proactively to provide wide-range of project support.
  • Ability to use discretion and keep information confidential.
  • Willingness and flexibility to adapt to frequent changes and requests.
