(C09) Risk Assessment and Strategic Planning Coordinator

Job Description

Salem State is seeking a risk assessment and strategic planning coordinator to assist and support the Office of the General Counsel with risk assessment and management and strategic plan implementation. The ideal candidate must be able to work independently, have excellent reasoning skills, exercise sound judgment and organization, possess superior communication skills and be able to work collaboratively with others. This is a part-time, non-benefited position up to 15 hours per week.

This position will provide the following support to the Office of the Vice President & General Counsel:

  1. Assist with strategic plan implementation including:
    1. Assisting departments with creating annual work plans
    2. Monitoring the tracking of data
    3. Reviewing and assessing reports
    4. Synthesizing reports into broader documents
    5. Scheduling and creating agendas for meetings
    6. Monitoring system where initiatives are reported on
    7. Preparing campus-wide communications on strategic planning updates
  2. Assist with risk assessment and management
    1. Gather information related to university’s risks
    2. Monitor progress on mitigation strategies
    3. Assist with protocols around emergency management
    4. Assist with the promulgation of continuity of operations plans
    5. Assist with report writing regarding risks and risk mitigation
  3. Demonstrate sensitivity to students, faculty and staff of varying racial, ethnic, religious, gender, cultural, disability, sexual orientation and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  4. Demonstrates sensitivity to students with a diversity of learning styles.
  5. Serve as a role model and mentor for students as appropriate.
  6. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four years of experience assisting in risk assessment, strategic planning, business development or audit

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to reason and exercise independent and sound judgment and discretion in dealing with confidential matters
  • Skill in using electronic and computerized equipment
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form
  • Ability to gather and obtain information by examining records, documents, and reports
  • Ability to deal tactfully with others
  • Ability to coordinate the efforts of others in accomplishing assigned work objectives
