Faculty Development Coordinator

Job Description

Summary

The Office of Faculty Development, a highly visible office with activities bridging the Medical School, Michigan Medicine and the campus community is looking for a high-energy, detailed-oriented individual to join our fast-paced team.  The Faculty Development Coordinator will report to the Assistant Director of Leadership Development but will work collaboratively with Faculty Development program managers.

Responsibilities*

  • Manage program logistics including room schedules and set-up, registration, catering, arrange and supervise vendor service delivery, audio visual equipment for asynchronous activities, virtual moderating, and other services as needed

  • Additional workshop management including developing program communications and preparation and/or editing of curricular materials

  • Preparation and close-out of Continuing Medical Education (CME) applications

  • MiVideo upkeep for recorded programs

  • Booking meeting space and maintaining the Faculty Development program calendar

  • Coordinates other ad hoc projects as required

  • Provide administrative support for various committee meetings including agendas, minute taking, correspondence, and scheduling as needed

  • Act as the first point of contact to monitor and respond to incoming requests from faculty and Medical School leadership

  • Provide administrative support to the Office of Faculty Development’s leadership

Required Qualifications*

  • Associate’s degree and/or equivalent experience

  • 2-3 years administrative support experience

  • Demonstrated interest and involvement in enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion

  • The individual should possess excellent interpersonal skills in order to deal collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within teams and independently

  • Applicants should demonstrate excellent critical thinking skills and good judgment.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Demonstrated organizational skills, including ability to plan, organize, and follow through on a large and diverse workload, while attending to detail and meeting deadlines.

Desired Qualifications*

  • Previous experience working with faculty and executive level leadership

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
