Responsibilities

The Remote Strategy and Planning Intern will join the Strategy and Planning team, which plays a critical role in supporting the organization's strategic goals and priorities. The ideal candidate will be comfortable navigating ambiguous and often complex business situations through structured, first-principles-based thinking, and be able to substantiate their recommendations with data and analysis. This role offers the opportunity to work on one or more projects that directly or indirectly support business growth and/or improvement in profitability and will report directly to a Senior Director within the Strategy and Planning team. This internship will be an excellent opportunity to apply classroom knowledge as well as think outside the box to "solve" real-world business problems.

Primary Responsibilities*:

  • Support strategic project(s) aimed at business process optimization, integration, and/or innovation.
  • Perform internal and external research and utilize findings to (a) strengthen quality of analysis; as well as (b) make recommendations on technology/tooling or processes that can be utilized to achieve project outcomes in an expedient and effective manner.
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses to uncover trends, patterns, and insights to inform strategy.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders, when applicable, to develop and refine output as well as to share project updates.
  • Assist with project coordination and tracking to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Develop a repository of resources that can be utilized by the business to access and educate itself on key artifacts introduced over the course of the project(s).
  • Create presentations and reports to communicate findings and recommendations to key stakeholders.
  • Assist immediate team members with miscellaneous requests, when requested.

*Specific activities assigned during the internship may vary depending on business needs at the time of the program.



Qualifications

  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program required; strategy, economics, statistics or a related field.
  • Strong analytical abilities and intellectually curious.
  • Proficient in Excel and has an interest in learning other data analysis programs; SQL and Power BI knowledge a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Comfortable working with cross-functional teams.
  • Passionate about problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Graduating in December of 2024 or June of 2025.
  • Ability to commit 40 hours per week for 12 weeks during the 2024 summer.

Benefits

Compensation depends on the applicable US geographic market. The expected base pay for this position ranges from $21-$40 an hour, and will be based on a number of additional factors including skills, experience, and education.
