Your Role

The Corporate Services Finance team ensures financial stewardship of the Corporate Services administrative budget and serves as the trusted financial advisor to executive leadership. Our team is looking for a Financial Analyst, Consultant to steer financial performance toward Blue Shield goals. The position will support annual planning, monthly forecasting, monthly performance reporting, and analysis of key strategic initiatives to drive business results. Our Corporate Services organizations include the Office of the CEO, People & Engagement, Communications & Corporate Citizenship, Law, Finance, and Foundation. We are a hybrid business unit that works both remotely and in office.

Your Work

In this role, you will:

  • Partner cross-functionally to effectively steer financial performance through detailed planning and analysis
  • Develop and present financial models, annual plans, and monthly results with updated outlooks to executive leadership
  • Identify risks, opportunities, and solutions to meet financial goals
  • Provide policy guidance and interpretation to ensure financial records are consistent and comply with company policies and GAAP
  • Drive data-driven decision making by providing clear, concise, and accurate financial summaries and recommendations in support of achieving financial and operational targets
  • Collect and evaluate data, develop, and maintain financial models, analyze results and conduct scenario analyses to forecast
  • Follow and audit processes and review internal controls to ensure financial transactions are accurate, timely and comply with accounting standards, principles, and company policy
  • Support headcount management and Human Capital Planning
  • Additional duties as assigned

Your Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
  • 7 years of prior relevant experience required
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookups), Word, Access, and PowerPoint
  • Requires deep knowledge of Finance and Accounting typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience
  • Expert command of Finance and Accounting principles
  • Experience with specific systems key to the role (e.g., Oracle, Essbase)
  • Excellent organization and command of details
  • Ability to work independently and drive results
  • Excellent verbal and written communication

Pay Range: The pay range for this role is $109,120.00 to $163,680.00 for California.

Note: Please note that this range represents the pay range for this and many other positions at Blue Shield that fall into this pay grade. Blue Shield salaries are based on a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, location (California, Bay area, or outside California), and current employee salaries for similar roles.
