Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
This position is located in Rockville, MD at the Universities at Shady Grove (USG) -
The Manager, Student Affairs & Career Readiness Operations will provide leadership and management for strategic initiatives associated with the Universities at Shady Grove (USG), Career Readiness, the Hire U Program, and Student Affairs.

- Assist the Chief Student Affairs & Career Readiness Officer with on-gong initiatives related to the Montgomery County Education Eco-System career readiness framework.
- Development and management of career competency assessments.
- Will oversee all technology aspects of Hire U, lead the USG Career Readiness Advisory Committee, and lead Montgomery County Career Readiness Committee efforts.
- This position is also responsible for the leadership and management of the Hire U sub-unit.
- Responsibilities include program design and development for career readiness.
- Collaborating with USG’s Office of Information Technology related to technology selection, development, implementation, and on-going monitoring and measurement. Collaborating closely with USG Marketing and Communications, will lead Student Affairs & Career Readiness in the design, development, and delivery of marketing and communications programs.
- The position will also lead data management and reporting efforts for Student Affairs & Career Readiness working closely with USG Institutional Research.

Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in career services, employer relations, experiential learning programs, student affairs, human resources, or workforce development.
- Previous experience with event planning and management.
- Previous experience with marketing communications and social media campaigns.
- One (1) year experience supervising staff.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, complex multi-institutional student services environment
- Ability to collaborate with a variety of constituencies including USM institutions, community colleges, and professional and community organizations in the USG service region
- Ability to manage a variety of projects with initiative
- Skilled in Interpersonal communications and leadership
- Ability to work with diverse individuals on a variety of issues and to support an inclusive environment
- Ability to counsel, mediate, and facilitate in a student environment; knowledge of trends and issues facing transfer students
- Skilled in the use of computers and software; skilled in methodologies for data collection, analysis, and reporting
- Ability to supervise and train staff, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments

- Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis on higher education, student affairs, workforce development, business management, or human resources preferred.
- Master’s degree also preferred.

- Experience with strategy implementation, collaborative partnerships, performance measurement, and budget oversight preferred.
