Maintenance Assistant
Job Description

The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for a variety of duties including Painting & preparation, drywall repair, general maintenance, repairs and upkeep for college facilities. Will provide assistance to skilled trades (e.g. Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, Carpentry and Welding) Provides general set-ups for college functions. Operates grounds keeping equipment (e.g. Riding Mowers, Weed eaters, blowers).
Essential Duties
Preparation & Painting Interior and exterior of college buildings. Drywall & Carpentry Work.
Keep parking facilities properly marked and striped. Provide set-ups for scheduled college events.
Provide general repairs on and within buildings.
Assist with skilled trade's repairs and maintenance (e.g. electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and welding).
Provide snow and ice removal during inclement weather.
Provide vehicle maintenance & cleaning. Document maintenance and repairs.
Assist with skilled trade's repairs and maintenance (e.g . electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and welding. Operate and maintain grounds keeping equipment.
Maintain and document monthly inspections (e.g. fire extinguishers, elevators, alarms, AED's...). Maintain buildings and equipment.
Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment, and understand and practice jobsite Safety and cleanliness practices.
Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
Salary $16.00 per hr Hours 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Hours subject to change.

Required Qualifications
Completion of sufficient education or training to read and write. Must possess a valid driver ' s license and have a safe driving record .
Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Arkansas Department of Higher Education .
