Job Description

MINIMUM SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must currently hold a DoD 8570-compliant IAT III certification (SSCP or Security+ CE with appropriate CE/OS certificate) or be able to obtain within six months
  • Must currently hold SECRET and be eligible to obtain a DoD clearance with potential growth to Top Secret
  • Experienced in installation of Navy onboard systems, including fiber, taps, encryptions devices, servers, switches, routers, and CND deployment toolkits
  • Intermediate experience with Linux based systems and troubleshooting RHEL systems
  • Intermediate level knowledge of Linux based systems, scripting languages (e.g. Python), and tools such Ansible to streamline configuration management, automation, security hardening, in order to reduce manual tasks and mitigate obsolescence issues

DESIRED SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Intermediate level knowledge of Linux based systems, scripting languages (e.g. Python), configuration management, automation scripting
  • Experience with virtualization technologies, VMware vSphere or Red Hat Kernel-based Virtual Machine (KVM)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to thrive in a diverse, fast-changing environment
  • Experience with DoD security implementation including STIG, security tools, including HBSS, ACAS, and SIEM and Cloud security best practices
  • Degree in Engineering or Computer Science
  • Test execution or test documentation experience, specifically for installation of shipboard systems
  • Experience troubleshooting utilizing SIEM tools, to include review of event logs, performance logs, growth of data, and the status of server backups
  • Familiarity in managing user accounts, networked devices, DNS registries, and DNS scopes.
  • Experience using PowerShell scripts to automate processes such as user account management and maintaining security posture

FILLING THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON FUNDING

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Utilizes experience with:
    • Application of cyber analysis tools such as ACAS, SCAP, and DISA STIGs/SRGs
    • Shipboard and ashore installation for tech refreshes, CND deployer toolkit, groom installations, and site surveys
    • Tier II/III end-user support, effectively resolving technical issues, and technical assistance for all operating systems and hardware
  • Performs PIVOT/SOVT tests and provides updates and review of installation documentation
  • Hardens infrastructure to ensure test, staging, and production enclaves' cybersecurity posture are maintained
  • Performs on-site installation, troubleshooting, and testing of products and equipment, provides technical support to customers on operational or maintenance aspects of system equipment
  • Develops engineering solutions to maintain and harden testing and production systems, utilizing Ansible, Bash, and Puppet
  • Configures and administers Linux based servers as well as network infrastructure of enterprise level information systems
  • Supports full on-site work at Old Town, with expected travel for installation approximately 1-3x/year
  • Secret clearance to begin work on-site, position requires TS-eligible or TS/SCI-eligible
