Research and Instruction Librarian HV-FAC-22124
Full Time Probationary
Position Overview: The Research and Instruction Librarian provides in-person and virtual research services as well as promotes, develops, and delivers general and course-specific instruction. The Research and Instruction Librarian creates instructional materials and implements methods of assessing student information literacy competency and learning outcomes consistent with college, SUNY, and national standards. The Research and Instruction Librarian is collaborative and student-centered and serves as a liaison to college departments.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Master’s Degree in Library or Information Science from an ALA-accredited institution
• Familiarity with academic library research and instruction services
• Understanding of the ACRL Framework for Information Literacy
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Evidence of successful collaboration in a team environment
• Familiarity with assessment practices
The Research and Instruction Librarian reports to the Library Director.
Duties and Responsibilities are:
• Evaluates print and online resources to develop and maintain relevant collections
• Creates and maintains resources for the library website
• Provides research and instruction services to online students and students served by other campus locations
• Engages in professional development and continuing education activities
• Serves on library and college committees
• Participate in an evening and weekend schedule rotation
The Salary for this academic year position is $48,981.00.
