Your Role

The IT Operations team is responsible for the centralized management of all IT Division financial plans, resource capacity and accounts payable while driving efficiency and standardization in IT operational business processes.

The IT Accounts Payable Specialist, Senior will report to the Sr. Manager of the IT Operations team, and works in partnership with others in the functional area. In this role you will be a key element to BSC financial success leveraging your natural tendency for attention to detail, while seeking efficiencies in process through data analysis and reporting. You will leverage your strong communications skills to collaborate with other departments on process improvements and compliance activities.

Your Work

In this role, you will:

• Operate across a matrixed environment, able to manage ambiguity and to reach understanding and gain commitment to act; plan and perform process improvement initiatives
• Focus on successful execution/delivery of outcomes, and maintain track record for driving change, delivering business value, and meeting commitments
• Effectively present financial information, business case, change recommendations and respond to questions from stakeholders
• Plan, perform and implement process improvement initiatives related to IT operational and financial management
• Identify business process improvement opportunities, propose solutions, engage management and stakeholders to align on decisions, and revise desk level procedures to reflect changes
• Take ownership over assigned Accounts Payable duties such as processing invoices in accordance with BSC policies
• Proactively manage an invoice backlog, engaging Blue Shield leaders and vendor partners to ensure timely and accurate invoice processing and payment
• Have an excitement about learning and teaching new techniques, tips, tricks
• Build collaborative, effective relationships with colleagues and leaders

Your Knowledge and Experience

• Requires a college degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience
• Requires advanced knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience; may have practical knowledge of project management
• In depth understanding of technology solution for function, including specific experience with chosen solution at BSC -TBM/Apptio; Service Marketplace/ServiceNow; Policy and Controls/ServiceNow GRC; Demand/Capacity/Planview
• In-depth understanding and proven expertise/experience in process design methodology, tools, techniques and/or in-depth operational expertise in process at BSC
• Preferred accounts payable or invoice processing experience
• Demonstrated business process improvement skills
• Collaborative working style, complete with strong communication skills
• Data analysis experience preferred
• Experience using SAP Concur and/or Jaggaer systems a plus

Pay Range:

The pay range for this role is: $ 99000.00 to $ 148500.00 for California.
