Responsibilities

Peraton is searching for a talented Senior Lead Software Developer to become part of Peraton's Citizens Security & Public Services, State and Local West, County of San Diego Account.

Day to Day Roles and Responsibilities:

The Senior Lead Software Developer will be responsible for the following, but not limited to:

Responsible for business level support over multiple applications for a specified technology / capability suite. They act as the liaison between the developers, analysts, and clients. The business support ATL exercises a level of foresight and critical thinking when anticipating and resolving client requests, issues, and opportunities. Fulfill a supervisory and workload management role for the developers and analysts within their scope of influence. Are responsible for understanding the client's technological requirements and are capable as acting as the backup to the Business Unit Application Manager (BUAM).

Undertakes the service management activities and minor enhancement involved in the ongoing delivery of application management. Provides application life-cycle technical expertise for the support, monitoring, troubleshooting, change and enhancement of packaged (e.g., Accela, Oracle) or custom applications (e.g. Java, .Net and mainframe) in accordance with contractual terms and conditions and established technical standards such as CMMI-SCC and ISO. Provides technical input, and delivery model solutions/recommendations to application management services deal pursuit. Engages in and provides support for transition/transformation efforts. Undertakes a range of service management functions required to ensure service delivery compliance to budget, and quality standards on an on-going basis following operational policies and processes that are compliant with industry standards, such as ISO, and best practices such as Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL).

What you'll do:

    Utilize strong communication skills to coordinate with team members, clients, and vendors.
  • Keep projects and team members on track with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Lead and mentor team members to achieve functional and individual objectives.
  • Works with project manager, clients, and technical teams to prepare work schedules and man-hour estimates.
  • Coordinate resource assignment with Project Managers.
  • Supervise and delegate duties to the development team.
  • Directly manage small effort projects assigned to technology group.
  • Identify and manage risks within supported technology suite.
  • Accountable for maintenance of technical documentation and system and software updates.
  • Coordinate evaluation, remediation, and root cause analysis for production issues.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience or Master's degree and 6+ years of experience or a High School Diploma and 12 years of experience.
  • Proficient in software development, with experience in a supervisory role.

  • Strong technical skills in software development, including experience with programming languages such as Java, Python, or C#.
  • Experience with Accela
  • Experience with software development methodologies such as Agile or Scrum.
  • Experience with software development tools such as Git, JIRA, and Jenkins.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Target Salary Range
$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
