Position: Head of Co-Creation New Business Development Office

Job Location: 16535 Via Esprillo, San Diego, CA 92127

Duties: Develop the organization's strategic plan(s) to ensure its continued successful growth and profitability. Conduct environmental scans, organizational positioning analyses and other studies. Coordinate input from all major business units to facilitate the integration of individual business unit plans with the corporate plan. Conduct or facilitate periodic reviews of achievements and performance versus strategic plans. Identify, analyze, and compares alternative opportunities for entering new markets and adopting new technologies. Reporting to the President of Sony North America (SNA), lead a newly formed Co-Creation Business Development Office focused on new business creation in the United States and Canada. Identify and implement new growth business development opportunities that looks beyond today's existing business and formalizes business models that bring sustainable and growing revenue and profit. Build relationships and partnerships with industry companies to realize short/mid-range product direction and create value. Establishes and executes alliance strategies and M&A activity within target markets to develop and implement intended business strategy. Responsible for leading the SNA's New Business Group (new product launches within US), with a RP&L totaling of $20M in FY23 (New Business Group).

Minimum education required: Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in Business, Marketing, Legal Studies or a related field.

Minimum experience required: 9 years of experience serving as a business strategy manager in the global consumer electronics industry or related experience.

Skills required: Must have experience with: incubator or new business development and growth; managing multiple functions (sales, marketing, operations) within a startup business; managing employees; strategic business planning and execution; building executive-level customer relationships and partnerships; strategic negotiations and collaborating and building consensus across global executive leaders; P&L management; Proficiency with process for establishing a new business in the US, including the legal and regulatory analysis and review, and accounting and taxation analysis and review; consumer electronics industry background; and global business experience.
