Job Description

Primary Purpose

Performs economic evaluation of investment opportunities under development by Sempra Infrastructure. Supports Corporate Development department with review of M&A transactions. Sempra Infrastructure Investment opportunities may include LNG export, LNG regasification, pipelines, storage, renewable power, net zero solutions and other related businesses in the United States and Mexico. Ensures integrity and accuracy of financial models and presents findings to management.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Act as primary modeler in economic modeling for assigned SLNG projects or agreements. Prepare summary report of the economic results with the primary drivers. Present and discuss analysis with company senior management to help with decision making.
  • Interface and coordinate with other functional areas within the company, e.g., tax, accounting, etc., and external consultants to ensure subject matter experts provide advice with consistent assumptions for the economic analysis.
  • Work with other functional teams during the structuring, negotiation, pricing and execution of transactional contracts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).

**Will consider lower-level Senior Financial Analyst.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, finance, economics, mathematics, engineering or analytical field, or substantive post-graduate work in these fields.
  • At least 8-10+ years of related experience with a focus on financial and valuation analysis.
  • Thorough knowledge of corporate finance, valuation analysis, investment analysis financial modeling. Familiarity with US accounting and tax.
  • Familiarity with project finance, joint venture documents and transactional contracts with ability to identify and absorb key contract terms.
  • Familiarity with natural gas pipeline, gas storage, and LNG pricing.
  • Strong Excel modeling skills and the ability to translate contractual provisions to the model.
  • Strong PowerPoint presentation, business written and oral communications skills.
  • Strong relationship building skills. Able to work cross functional teams and across business units.
  • Strong analytical skills; ability to work on extremely complex problems.
  • Excellent project management skills. Maintains proper balance between the need for careful, detail-oriented and essential work versus meeting external and internal deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Bilingual, English and Spanish, professional working level proficiency.

HYBRID: Work a combination of onsite and remote days each week, typically 2-3 days per week.
