Essential Job Duties
With the complexity of ongoing changes in both federal and state legislation with regard to benefits and leave programs; requirements by the State and UNC System to utilize their systems and processes, such as ORBIT, Empyrean, Marpai, and EBenefits platform, upgrades to the University HR system; and the continuous need to restructure responsibilities to accommodate organizational needs/objectives, a Specialist with high working knowledge or ability to quickly master knowledge of the functionality of PeopleSoft is required to effectively and efficiently support the department’s growing business needs.

All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Other Required Qualifications
- Benefits, payroll, data management, or system administration work experience with responsibilities in benefits and payroll compliance.
- Experience managing programs/data with a large scale population.
- Computer skills required with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS Systems (Peoplesoft a plus) including analysis, system and user testing, query, problem resolution, and planning.
- Solid knowledge of the IRS code, DOL rules, and, North Carolina State regulations as they apply to benefits, retirement, and leave programs.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within and across various departments on complex projects.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, and ability to interpret complex data.
- Demonstrated experience communicating/supporting customers across multiple tiers of the organization effectively. Ability to multi-task and see projects through to the end.
- Basic ability to understand and interpret multiple plan documents, policies, procedures, legal requirements, and retirement plan concepts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Applicable experience with benefits or system administration
- Experience with HR Information Systems (PeopleSoft)

Valid NC Driver's License required
