Your Role

The Member Marketing team is responsible for member facing communications that help educate and reinforce the importance and value of Blue Shield of California benefits and offerings while meeting our member's needs along their own personal health journey. The Director, Member Marketing will report to the Sr. Director of Brand Strategy, Member Marketing & Creative. In this role you will drive brand relevance, consistency, and engagement across a variety of member facing touchpoints. Your Work

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies aimed to increase member engagement while leading and managing a team of marketing professionals who deliver communications across various channels including email, print, web, SMS & digital
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, such as product, line of business leaders, operations, and content, to align marketing goals and objectives with business priorities
  • Analyze and report on the performance and impact of marketing campaigns and initiatives, using data-driven insights and best practices
  • Leverage your operational expertise to drive planning and coordination with our in-house creative team responsible for executing on member marketing campaigns
  • Mentor and coach team members to enhance capabilities around creating high-quality, comprehensive executive summaries, as well as overall story-telling through successful PowerPoint decks
  • Research and monitor marketing trends, members needs, and competitive landscape, and identify new opportunities for growth and innovation

Your Knowledge and Experience

  • Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Requires at least 10 years prior relevant experience, including 6 years of management experience
  • Demonstrated experience in all areas of marketing including digital and print, with measurable campaign results required
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills with proven track record of building strong relationships with leadership and cross functional teams
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) as well as a strong working knowledge of workflow management tools required - experience with Adobe Workfront is a plus
  • Experience with healthcare or similar highly regulatory environment preferred

Pay Range:
The pay range for this role is: $ 165990.00 to $ 248930.00 for California.

Please note that this range represents the pay range for this and many other positions at Blue Shield that fall into this pay grade. Blue Shield salaries are based on a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, location (California, Bay area, or outside California), and current employee salaries for similar roles.
