Senior Systems Engineer - DTEC - 24-002 - San Diego, California

As a growing Department of Defense Contractor, AUSGAR Technologies is expanding its workforce and has an exciting NEW opportunity for a Senior Systems Engineer - DTEC to join our team of smart and innovative technical team members in San Diego, California.


AUSGAR is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as the US Navy Unmanned Surface Vessel (USV) Sr. Systems Engineer. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in coordinating, managing and supporting various aspects of test and evaluation (T&E) events related to USV systems, ensuring their readiness and compliance with Navy standards and requirements.


Coordinating T&E Events: Collaborate with NIWC PAC, PMS 406, ICS and other stakeholders to coordinate T&E events for USV systems.


Test Execution Leadership: Lead and manage the execution of tests with the support of the T&E team, ensuring proper planning, execution and documentation of test activities.


Test Plan Development: Support the development of test plans and procedures for integration-level tests across product codes, including integration with ICS/Autonomy systems.


USV Test Strategy: Assist in the development of the overall USV test strategy, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives.


Verification Test Planning: Work closely with the Systems Engineering (SE) team, Integration team and T&E lead to plan system requirement verification test plans and strategies.


Test Plan Review: Review test plans and procedures for system-level testing to ensure the implementation of USV requirements.


Reliability Analysis: Support reliability analysis and development efforts for USV systems, contributing to their overall reliability and performance.


OQE Development: Assist in developing and providing Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) for Technology Readiness Assessments and Technology Maturity assessments.

Requirements

  • Must have a current Secret clearance.
  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field from an accredited university and 8-10 years of related experience.
  • Experience in testing and evaluation of complex systems, preferably within the defense or maritime industry.
  • Strong understanding of US Navy testing and certification processes and standards.
  • Proficiency in test planning, execution and documentation tools and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of reliability analysis techniques and methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with unmanned surface vessel (USV) systems or autonomous maritime systems.
  • Familiarity with Integrated Combat Systems (ICS) and autonomy technologies.
  • Certification in relevant areas such as Test and Evaluation (DAU T&E Level 1 or equivalent).

Salary Range: $100-160K


An essential qualification for this position is successfully obtaining a security clearance issued by the Federal Government, which may require successful completion of a background check.


AUSGAR's salary range is dependent upon a variety of factors, which include experience, skills, education, certifications and geographical location. Our salary range includes a base salary and excellent benefits package as part of our total compensation.
