Scope of Position

The Business Development Analyst position is focused on identifying and pursuing new energy business for distributed products and services, including solar PV and battery storage. The role focuses on customer identification, lead qualification and generation, outreach to help populate the team's sales funnel, and working with Business Development managers to craft and close transactions. Responsibilities extend across all phases of Company business development including customer relationship management, market-specific analysis, direct marketing and cold calling to customers, business development campaign plan development and execution, proposal development, land acquisition, and assistance with contract negotiations. The successful candidate will have strong organizational skills, industry experience or exposure, experience developing and nurturing customer relationships, and a deep passion for renewable energy and storage. The successful candidate will also be teamoriented and will demonstrate strong reasoning and communication skills, both oral and written.

Location: This position will be located in our San Diego, CA office with hybrid flexibility.

Responsibilities
    40% Business Development Execution: Collaborate with the Origination team to develop and implement contact plans with customers in targeted segments. Engage and obtain required information for proposal development. Assist in proposal development and writing. Coordinate with colleagues across the Company to assemble and submit proposals.
  • 25% Land Acquisition: Assist the team in acquiring new land for targeted development opportunities.
  • 10% Collaborate with Business Development managers to craft the customer transaction and track contracting activity.
  • 10% Market Research: Research specific regional or state markets and incentives, verticals, and codevelopment opportunities.
  • 10% Track, update, coordinate, and advance opportunities.
  • 5% Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree: business, marketing, or technical degree
  • 2+ years of experience in sales and marketing; exceptional entry level candidates will be considered
  • Prior energy industry experience preferred
  • Familiarity with solar and wind industry terms and sales contract forms preferred
  • Ability to travel upon request (approximately 30% time)
  • Abilty to traverse project sites with varying terrain and weather conditions.
