Job Description

PREDOCTORAL RESEARCH FELLOW, Economics, to support work at all stages of the process on research projects in labor economics, studying imperfect competition as well as the role of institutions (e.g., governments, unions) in regulating labor market inequality. The studies geographically cover the U.S., Europe, and South-East Asia.  Will work on research projects with a group of faculty at MIT and MIT Sloan--Nina Roussille and Anna Stansbury. Will engage directly in the research process and implement complete project pipelines covering data cleaning, processing, and analysis as well as research and grant writing.  Will be fully integrated into the research and predoc community at MIT; attend seminars; and meet regularly with professors to discuss work, exchange ideas, and receive feedback. 

The position offers an opportunity to gain exposure to and training in a broad set of economic research topics and methods.  It is ideally suited to those planning to attend graduate school in economics, computer science, data science, or a related field.  

REQUIRED:  bachelor’s degree in economics, computer science, mathematics, statistics, or a related field; at least two years of specialized experience with qualitative data analysis, research methods, and social sciences (may include experience gained as an undergraduate); strong communication, analytical, and Stata coding skills; and meticulous attention to detail.  Job #23700
