The Health Equity Program Specialist's primary responsibility is to help lead the Health Equity Program, which includes the initiation of projects and initiatives, tracking progress, identifying stopgaps or pain points, and developing quality improvement efforts to ensure the program goals and deliverables are met. This role will also lead activities associated with the Health Equity Steering Committee.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement projects as assigned by the Health Equity Program Manager. This includes developing the project charters, defining project goals, requirements, deliverables, and scope and holding project team members accountable for individual work.
  • Tracks action plans and prepares formal reporting and tracks data. The Health Equity Program Lead will effectively utilize problem solving, conflict management, change management and team building methodologies.
  • Establish timelines and follow up tasks and activities to ensure action items/objectives are completed within the designated timeframe.
  • Successfully manage multiple projects and adapt to different project needs, constraints and barriers.
  • Partner with project teams, providing consultation related to other organizational projects, initiatives (i.e. provide health equity lens and expertise on implementation of new services or care, new healthcare information systems, etc.).
  • Analyze data from disparate sources, transform into actionable information that will effectively inform and drive improvement efforts.
  • Partner with project leads/owners to prepare reports, data or other materials for health equity project-related communications or presentations.
  • Leads, facilitates or participates in relevant committees and work groups.
  • Assists leaders and teams in identifying and correcting health care disparities and/or equity related regulatory/accreditation compliance issues.
  • Research addressing health disparities and equitable health care best practices, national and regional benchmarks, and industry standards.
  • Generate enthusiasm in addressing health disparities and advancing health equity.
  • Maintain the Health Equity Program, Inclusion and Equity in Research Program, and Health Equity Steering Committee CenterNet and SharePoint sites.
  • Manage, track and identify action steps on the Health Equity Steering Committee Inclusion and Equity in Research Strategic Dashboard.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Fred Hutch is seeking a dynamic professional to join the Patient Experience department's Health Equity team.

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related health care field.
  • Minimum 5 years of health care experience.
  • Demonstrates ability to form respectful, productive working relationships with people from diverse backgrounds.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team as the situation requires.

Preferred for this job:

  • Master's degree in a related health care field.
  • Demonstrated experience in diversity, equity and inclusion, anti-racist and health equity work.
  • Experience with SmartSheet or other project management platforms.

The annual base salary range for this position is from $76,606.40 to $114,878.40 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
