Minimum Education/Training/Experience
Bachelor’s Degree with 2 years experience working with student services, career development or academic advising in a college or university setting.
Preferred Education/Training/Experience
Master’s Degree and direct Career Services and community relations experience with a community college.
Minimum Knowledge & Skills
Knowledge of:
- Understanding theories and best practices regarding the academic development of students.
- Career counseling, recruiting or related career advising techniques
- Strong ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written.
- Strong planning, facilitation, and presentation skills to a broad variety of audiences
- Ability to work independently as well as to function effectively and collaboratively in a team environment
- Possess strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks
- Proficient with computer applications; a thorough understanding of Microsoft Office suite
Preferred Knowledge & Skills
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Experience in community involvement or outreach
- 3 years experience working with Career Services on a Community College basis
- Working knowledge of student management systems, such as Focus 2, Symplicity, Colleague, Navigate, or Zogotech

Job Duties
- Assist Career Services Director to prepare and present events, programs and workshops to students and employers
- Develop internships for students as well as job shadowing and experiential learning
- Build relationships with employers to assist with student internships and other related opportunities
- Provide individual and group career assessments and development areas
- Work with faculty to identify the needs of specific needs of programs to help students’ success with career related opportunities
- Track necessary data and student participation to support program success
