This position will be in support of the Defense & Veterans Center for Integrative Pain Management (DVCIPM), at the Naval Medical Center San Diego (NMCSD). The DVCIPM National Office is located at the Uniformed Services University (USU).
HJF is seeking a Project Manager II (Clinical Research) to drive the successful completion of key deliverables and stated objectives for clinical research projects by coordinating and monitoring the status of work performed by the research support staff at the Naval Medical Center San Diego (NMCSD).
Responsibilities
- Identifies site-specific challenges associated with the study and proposes proactive solutions and feasibility assessments.
- Makes decisions for day-to-day operations of projects including the resolution of technical problems and questions from project staff.
- Monitors progress of the study and prepares site-specific progress reports.
- Interfaces with NMCSD IRB ensuring the timely submission of applications, amendments, continuing reviews, etc.
- Develops and maximizes internal and external relationships while acting as a liaison between DVCIPM leadership, the study site, and the laboratories. Collaborates with site PI, coordinators, regulatory and QA/QC personnel to facilitate project operations.
- Adheres to compliance and privacy/ confidentiality requirements and standards, including DOD specific regulations and guidance. Adheres to GCP and compliance regulations for clinical trials.
- May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Direct Supervisor: Direct authority over research support staff at NMCSD. Involved in decisions relating to: employee hiring, disciplinary action, and merit increases; conduct employee performance evaluations and directs work activities.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to communicate clearly, work well with others, identify and resolve problems, and deliver results as a team.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, schedule, and coordinate activities to meet deadlines.
- Working knowledge of a variety of software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, such as: proposal/project tracking, or data entry software, preferred.
- Knowledge of Good Clinical Practices (GCP), human subject research, or equivalent regulations, preferred.
Physical Capabilities
- Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods.
Work Environment
- This position will take place primarily in an office setting.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree;
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience required

- Master's Degree
