Job Summary

The Senior Systems Administrator will design, implement, and support virtualization and storage solutions. As a Sr. Systems Administrator, you will work closely with IT management and business stakeholders to understand their requirements and design efficient and scalable infrastructure solutions with an emphasis on virtualization and storage architectures. This position may require some travel.

Roles & Responsibilities

This position has responsibility for:

  • Collaborating with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements for infrastructure solutions.
  • Design, implement and support infrastructure solutions using VMware and NetApp technologies.
  • Configure and optimize infrastructure environments for performance and scalability.
  • Integrate virtualization solutions with storage technologies, such as SAN and NAS.
  • Analyze, design, acquire and implement projects that address the infrastructure needs of the organization.
  • Ensure the security and availability of the enterprise infrastructure environments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to various infrastructure services including virtualization compute and storage.
  • Monitor and optimize infrastructure services and technologies for performance and capacity.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to other team members.
  • Maintain currency in the latest technologies and trends.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation and integration of infrastructure solutions.
  • Document technical specifications, processes, and procedures related to the enterprise infrastructure including compute and storage.
  • Installs new software releases, system upgrades, evaluates and installs patches and resolves software related problems.
  • Configures and maintains backup and recovery, archiving, capacity planning, support, monitoring, and provisioning of infrastructure services.
  • Windows Server and Linux Server administration.

Minimum Qualifications (Experience and Skills)

  • Typically requires 6 to 8 years of experience in infrastructure support, including support for virtualization, and storage architecture.
  • Expertise in VMware and NetApp or other storage technologies, such as SAN and NAS.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure concepts and technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of server hardware and infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise infrastructure solutions.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • U.S. Person status required

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or have asylum or refugee status in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications

  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or NetApp certification desired.
  • Some cloud experience, including Oracle Cloud and AWS a plus.
  • Linux OS, (RHEL, CentOS), experience in an enterprise would be a plus.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

USD: 117,926.53 - 153,312.98 per year
