Geosyntec is seeking a limited-term (approximately 6 months) Senior Staff Engineer in our San Diego, California office. The position will have the opportunity to work on complex projects involving the CA Construction General Permit inspections and construction oversight for civil projects in the Los Angeles region. Other projects may include stormwater runoff monitoring, modeling, and management planning, industrial NPDES permitting support and inspections, and Clean Water Act regulatory support for municipal and private clients. The role also offers a chance to learn and enhance business skills required for a successful consulting career.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    SWPPP Inspections;
  • Construction Oversight and quality assurance;
  • Interpret permit requirements and provide daily inspection reports;
  • Communicate progress with project managers and clients;
  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic calculations;
  • Conduct storm water sampling; and
  • Prepare reports.
Education and Licensure
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental or civil engineering or a closely related field. (required)
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification, if applicable. (preferred)
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Prior internship or work experience in environmental consulting. (required)
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn on the job. (required)
  • Experience with Stormwater Sampling and CGP or IGP Compliance. (preferred)
  • Experience with CAD and GIS software. (preferred)
  • Experience with land development, permitting, or municipal project implementation. (preferred)
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)

Below are the potential compensation ranges that we in good faith believe are applicable for this role at the time of this posting and are only applicable for jobs to be performed in the specified California locations below. The typical base salary range for this position is just one component of Geosyntec's total compensation package for employees. Based on state and federal requirements, this position may be hourly and overtime-eligible. Actual compensation will be determined based on education, experience, skill set and location.

  • Minimum Pay Rate: $38.35/hour / Maximum Pay Rate: $47.93/hour (San Diego)
