HOW YOU WILL IMPACT OUR MISSION
The Senior Public Relations Production Representative is responsible for the organization's reputation management as it relates to various media avenues. This position reports to the Senior Public Relations Manager.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Handle all incoming media inquiries, including, reviewing, determining validity, facilitating and scheduling interviews and/or news media host crews.
  • Write media releases, photo captions, key messaging, calendar listings, fact sheets and other materials as requested.
  • Develop public relation plans, including, strategy, pitching and facilitation for major media announcements.
  • Research and develop story lines and pitch stories to high tier media, science and feature publications, travel and tourism and other media outlets as warrants to maintain presence in key markets and build brand awareness.
  • Manage crisis communications.
  • Collaborate with photographers on story creation and with partnership marketing to facilitate commercial and advertising production shoots.
  • Monitor current news trends and gather information for developing communication strategies for future organizational plans.
  • Act as communication liaison for organization.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Three to five years of experience in public relations preferred.

JOB EXPERIENCE

  • Three to five years of experience in writing, editing, and/or producing content.

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in journalism, communication, public relations, or a related field or equivalent specialized training required.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Knowledge of various media mediums.
  • Must understand the fundamentals of public relations and journalism, including sound and visuals assets, accurate copy, accessibility and AP style.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills.
  • Critical thinking and interview skills.
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects with competing deadlines.
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and trends.
  • Able to communicate effectively (verbal and written).
  • Demonstrated ability to work with others in a diverse environment.

  • Salary Range: $78,400 - $86,680
