Wilson Elser's currently seeks a Senior Recruiter to join the team.

The ideal candidate will have three plus years' experience in recruitment, along with a deep knowledge of the sourcing, screening, interviewing, and hiring processes. We're seeking someone who's passionate about discovering untapped talent, driving company growth, and helping people develop successful careers. This position will be responsible for the recruitment process of attorney positions, with a focus on our West Coast market This is a hybrid position and can be located in any of our Arizona (Phoenix), California (Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, San Francisco), Colorado (Denver), Nevada (Las Vegas), Oregon (Portland), or Washington (Seattle) offices.

The Position

The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of this position. Wilson Elser will always consider candidates with an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education.

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 3+ years' recruiting experience in a corporate, legal, professional services, or agency environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing effective recruiting strategies.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems and other relevant recruitment technologies.
  • Experience conducting behavioral or structured interviews.
  • Professional in-person and over-the-phone presence, as a client-facing member of the team.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability and confidence to identify and analyze issues, make decisions, and initiate actions/solutions.
  • Valid authorization to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Source potential legal candidates through various channels, including online job boards, internal referrals, social media, and legal associations.
  • Evaluate resumes and applications to ensure alignment with the Firm's hiring criteria.
  • Conduct interviews to assess candidates' legal knowledge, communication skills, and potential contributions to the Firm.
  • Create and maintain a database of qualified legal professionals, keeping detailed records of their skills, experience, and career aspirations.
  • Work closely with hiring managers and partners to understand their specific legal staffing needs.
  • Provide guidance and expertise on legal market trends, salary benchmarks, and recruitment best practices.
  • Develop compelling job descriptions and advertisements to attract top legal talent.
  • Utilize various platforms, including job boards, social media, and legal publications, to market job opportunities effectively.
  • Ensure a positive candidate experience by providing timely and constructive feedback.
  • Work closely with the Firm's leadership to structure competitive and attractive offers and facilitate salary and benefit negotiations between the Firm and potential candidates.
  • Stay informed about legal industry trends, competitor firms, and changes in the legal job market, and provide insights to the Firm regarding market conditions and adjustments to recruitment strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards in recruitment practices.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with legal professionals, law schools, and legal organizations to enhance the Firm's recruitment network.
  • Proactively identify areas for improvement in the recruitment process and suggest and implement enhancements.

Pay is determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, depth of experience. This position is considered full-time and is therefore eligible to participate in employer-sponsored benefits, including medical, dental, vision, as well as elective/voluntary life, disability, and accident coverage. All full-time employees are eligible to participate in the Firm's 401k plan.
