Interns at Cubic Transportation Systems make a difference. They will be making a difference this summer being part of ourNY Faregate and Bus Validator Project.

We are enhancing our faregates and bus validators for our New York customer. We will be adding/replacing hardware with exciting new features. The new machine will be installed in the largest transit systemsin the United States. We are looking for mechanical andelectrical engineering interns with lots of ideas to build this machine together.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs mechanical engineering duties including design, testing, documentation, and support analysis.
  • Assists in technical support.
  • Assists in preparation of mechanical and system design.
  • Prepares mechanical engineering design documentation and test plans.
  • Performs problem analysis with guidance from other mechanical engineers.
  • Performs unit testing and integration testing
  • Performs environmental testing of components and/or systems
  • Shows commitment to company values, ethics, safety, security, labor charging and quality.
  • Supports, as required, total quality management/continuous process improvement teams.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Enrollment in a bachelors or masters degree program in mechanical engineering, computer science or other related technical discipline
  • Effective written and oral communication skills to include the use of typical Microsoft Office products.
  • Previously exposed to introductory mechanical engineering training or coursework.
  • Must be able to work in a lab environment and be able to use a computer.
  • Good interpersonal skills.

Cubic Pay Range:

$25 - $30/hr. + benefits.

The Cubic pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
