Job Description

  • This role requires you to be on-site in our San Diego Torrey Pines Office 3 days per week.
  • Responsible for processing on- and off-cycle payroll for both exempt and non-exempt employees in a multi-state environment
  • Primarily focused on payroll operations from time & attendance to payroll production and direct deposit.
  • Will coordinate with finance on basic accounting responsibilities.
  • Assists in managing customer inquiries and driving them to resolution in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Responsible for generating audit reports, interfacing with the payroll vendor (ADP), troubleshooting, and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of the payroll process.
  • Key service element for Guardant Health employees as well as a support function for company management.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state and local statutes.
  • Post payroll responsibilities include working with HR Benefits to record employee contributions for health & welfare and retirement programs.
  • Assist with payroll compliance matters such as multi-state/multi-jurisdiction tax withholding, garnishments and key annual audits (e.g. 401 (k), workers compensations, external financial audit).
  • Assist in implementing, writing and maintaining standard operating procedures.
  • Partner with People, Finance and other departments, as appropriate
  • Assist with or be responsible for other duties and ad-hoc projects as assigned by the Payroll Manager.

Qualifications
  • BS/BA degree preferred- preferably in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience assisting in the processing domestic payroll
  • Strong organizational and communication skills; strong desire to learn all aspects of payroll processing.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent prioritization skills
  • ADP Workforce Now experience preferred.
  • General working knowledge of ADP Payroll products.
  • Confidentiality of sensitive employee information
  • Experience with multi-state Payrolls larger than 1,000 employees with both exempt and non-exempt employees.
  • Detailed knowledge of payroll compliance and working knowledge of state/federal employment laws/regulations.
  • Capable of managing multiple deadlines in a fast-growing environment with frequently changing priorities.
  • Possess a tech-savvy mindset and passion for end to end design and improvement.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team and take on new tasks with various levels of difficulty.
  • Must be proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word)
  • A solutions-oriented team player who enjoys a dynamic work environment.

Additional Information

Hybrid Work Model: At Guardant Health, we have defined days for in-person/onsite collaboration and work-from-home days for individual-focused time. All U.S. employees who live within 50 miles of a Guardant facility will be required to be onsite on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.We have found aligning our scheduled in-office days allows our teams to do the best work and creates the focused thinking time our innovative work requires. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $67,704 to $84,630 USD. The range does not include benefits, and if applicable, bonus, commission, or equity.The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries across all US locations for the posted role with the exception of any locations specifically referenced below (if any).

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including, but not limited to, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. If you are selected to move forward, the recruiting team will provide details specific to the factors above.

Employee may be required to lift routine office supplies and use office equipment.Majority of the work is performed in a desk/office environment; however, there may be exposure to high noise levels, fumes, and biohazard material in the laboratory environment.Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
