American Specialty Health, Inc. is seeking a Data Engineer I to join our Information Technology team. This position will be responsible for delivering best-in-class analytical data solutions. Primary role will be participating in data curation projects and reporting system support and maintenance, with opportunities to develop innovative solutions and explore new technologies.

Duties: The Data Engineer I at American Specialty Heath Inc. in Carmel, IN will design, build, document, and manage data assets, and ETL processing solutions. Gather requirements to understand and solve business needs, problem solve when exploring, analyzing, and troubleshooting data, conduct training for team members and end-users when needed. Conduct quality review on data developments. Support client meetings to identify technical needs of reports and establish working relationships with clients of technical and non-technical teams. Utilize knowledge of business analytics and information systems to assist with Business Information Solutions (DBMS, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, and Tableau) development, performance tuning, and translate user non-technical requirements to existing data sources. Apply business analytics amid information systems knowledge and critical thinking skills when analyzing and implementing technical report criteria. Coordinate workflow of the business analytic department to ensure that productivity, quality, and timeliness standards are met. Provide leadership as a data expert and will support department functions as they interface with other departments to ensure efficient and effective teamwork within the organization, as defined by management. Telecommuting permitted (except for CT, DE, HI, IL, ME, MT, NV, NJ, NY, PA, Portland OR, Puerto Rico, RI & Washington, DC). Salary: $71,996 - $120,000 per year.
Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, Business Analytics, or related field, plus 1 year of experience in a Business Intelligence Solutions occupation or related occupation. The 1 year of experience must include 1 year of experience with each of the following: (1) data modeling, database design, and data warehouse and ETL design; (2) developing solutions using the MS SQL Server BI Stack and MS Azure Synapse platform; (3) T-SQL, PySpark Notebooks, and Dedicated SQL Pools; (4) Excel; (5) translating business requirements into technical specifications and; (6) business operations, database structures, and reporting solutions to meet business needs.
