Naval Surface Ship Operations Analyst, Senior

The Opportunity:

As an operations analyst, you're passionate about exploring the root cause of an issue and then analyzing, reporting, and developing recommendations for a creative solution. We need an experienced research analyst like you to help us solve complex problems for our clients. On our team, you'll evaluate operational data assessment strategies, such as acoustic analysis, event reconstruction, data management, statistical analysis, operational evaluation, and workflow processing to deliver solutions.

You won't go at it alone. You'll work alongside our team of warfare area experts, IT solution providers, and data management specialists to plan and evaluate research and experimentation in Navy mine countermeasures, prepare graphs and charts, and analyze and interpret the operational and tactical performance of mine counter-measures systems and operators. Once documented, you'll develop briefs, reports, and presentations to present results to our clients, collaborate with stakeholders, and participate in various program meetings and workshops to improve the Navy's tactical mine counter-measures performance.

In this role, you'll use your passion for analytics and statistics to devise modeling and measuring techniques utilizing mathematics, statistical methods, engineering methods, operational mathematics techniques, and other principles and laws of scientific and economic disciplines.

Use your operations research knowledge to develop technologies and concepts that advance Navy tactics, techniques, and procedures. This position is located in San Diego, CA.

You Have:

  • 4+ years of experience with Python programming language

  • 2+ years of experience with operations research, operations analysis, applied mathematics, or statistics

  • 2+ years of experience with leading analytics teams

  • Experience with the use of analytical software tools, including MATLAB, Statistical Analysis software, or Python

  • Knowledge of RMF process or data migration

  • Knowledge of modeling and simulation techniques

  • Ability to travel, including international travel and embarkation of U.S. Navy ships, for up to 10% of the time

  • Secret clearance

  • Master's degree

Nice If You Have:

  • Knowledge of U.S. Navy mine countermeasures systems, including unmanned aviation, surface, and underwater mine counter-measures vehicles

  • Knowledge of mine countermeasures planning and tactics

  • Ability to use Python for data analytics

  • Agile Methodologies Certification

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $65,300.00 to $149,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
