Your Role

The Data and Analytics platform administration team implements and supports management of visual analytics platforms and technology platforms that provide visualization, data processing, data integration and analytics including self-service data. The Senior Tableau Administrator will work with other senior administrators and SMEs in the Viz Tools Team as well as the Data Visualization and Democratization team. In this role you will implement, configure, secure, operationalize and optimize the Tableau Platform (on premise or cloud).

Your Work

In this role, you will:

• Independently design, build and support multiple platforms by executing any complex functional tasks (Complexity defined by how routine the tasks are) ensuring functionality, accessibility and security of the platform.
• Support analysis of audit trails to detect usage patterns of user activity and system capacity.
• Monitor, analyze system performance and suggest configuration changes for optimal performance in any complexity scenarios.
• Establish and maintain performance baselines, troubleshoot performance issues and provide recommendations/fixes for identified issues.
• Installs software platforms independently.
• Participates in platform design specifications.
• Defines policies, standards, best practice guidelines and user guides for usage of the platform.
• Plans, schedules and performs patching and upgrade tasks of platforms. Monitors utilization for user feedback, management and planning. Forecasts utilization patterns and recommends capacity changes. Tracks license compliance. Performs system backup and recovery procedures.
• Recommends and implements continuous improvement and automation of tasks. Supports and establishes standards for platform usage.
• Maintains user knowledgebase. Establishes requirements, methods and procedures.
• Contribute to disaster recovery and business continuity plans. Executes and ensures platform disaster recovery procedures are in place and ready for execution as required.
• Diagnose functional and performance issues, support users in need and build effective relationships with users and other teams.
• Self-learning on data and analytics technologies in use at BSC. Other duties as assigned

Your Knowledge and Experience

• Requires advanced knowledge of data tool administration, typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience
• At least 5 years of Tableau-focused experience, with at least 3 years of leading experience in Tableau Administration
• Conceptual understanding and Implementation knowledge about IT Infrastructure, Security and Service Management
• Experience in Tableau installation, usage of Tableau tools for understanding logs and content promotion, ability to automate tasks with Python and shell scripting desired.
• Experience in a customer-facing role, including comprehending business needs and solving complex problems.
• Effective documentations skills and verbal/written communication skills
• Experience with Power BI and ArcGIS platforms desired
• Certification in Tableau development and administration is a plus.

Pay Range:

The pay range for this role is: $ 99000.00 to $ 148500.00 for California.
