DESCRIPTION

The System Operator will maintain medical and conventional building equipment: boiler, steam system, diesel generators, air compressors and vacuum pumps, Chillers, heat exchangers, circulation pumps, plumbing, medical gas system, elevators, low voltage electrical systems, air handlers and exhaust systems, all associated HVAC equipment including the operation of the energy management system and calibration of direct digital controls. Responds to fire alarms and any building or utility related emergencies. First responder for all minor building and systems repair calls. Other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must have valid California Driver's License and acceptable driving record.
  • Environmental Protection Agency Certification (EPA) or commitment to get certified within six (6) months of hire.
  • Relevant systems operator experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Johnson Control programming skills.
  • Healthcare Environment Experience.
  • Hands-on industrial Plumbing, Industrial Electrical and Industrial Mechanical Experience.
  • Climatec and Metasys Digital Control Systems experience.
  • Ability to Maintain DI and Soft water Systems.
  • Experience and ability to maintain industrial belts and motors.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $96,403 - $96,403 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $46.17 - $46.17

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
