The Opportunity:

That's why we need you, a network engineer who knows how to develop the exact network the DoD needs.

As a network security engineer on our team, you'll use your skills in network design and architecture, system interoperability, with security integration to help support the nation's defense and respond to evolving adversaries. You'll upgrade or develop enterprise-wide infrastructure, troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, analyze current working infrastructures for network security flaws, and increase overall security, reliability, and availability for mission-critical network systems.You'll apply your knowledge of integration of security tools and hardware, routing, switching, system interoperability, IP engineering, network transport layers, gateway protocol, virtual routing, network design and architecture, as you join our team of problem-solvers to help the DoD evolve and deploy new capabilities and technologies.Your knowledge of network and security protocols will come in handy as you help optimize client operations and modernization. Using your experience in next generation firewalls, and network security tools, you'll serve as a trusted advisor to clients on mission-critical projects. You Have:

  • 4+ years of experience working in a network engineering role

  • 4+ years of experience determining and recommending network security requirements

  • 3+ years of experience with creating and maintaining network drawings

  • 3+ years of experience with applying STIGs for IA compliance

  • 3+ years of experience with identifying and providing ports, protocols, services, and a management plan (PPSM)

  • 2+ years of experience in working with Next Generation Firewalls (NGFWs)

  • TS/SCI clearance

  • HS diploma or GED

  • Ability to obtain IAT Level II Security+ Certification within 180 days of hire

  • Ability to obtain CCNA Certification within 180 days of hire

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with Software Defined Networks (SDN)

  • Experience with deploying virtual firewalls

  • Experience with creating or supporting RMF packages for network accreditation

  • Experience with network or security automation

  • Experience in network designs with Zero Trust principles

  • Knowledge of cloud-based technology

  • Bachelor's degree in CS or Engineering

  • CCNA or CCNP Certification

  • CASP or CISSP Certification

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $58,300.00 to $133,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
