ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operate Tractor Trailer safely and effectively in accordance with the Department Of Transportation and Port Authority
Drive within Restricted Vehicle Service Road (RVSR) and adhere to all safety rules and regulations including posted speed limits
Transport cargo to and from the warehouse as per contractual requirements
Inspect Tractor and trailer prior to operation
Report all mechanical failures to the supervisor
Ensure truck is fueled prior to operation
Maintain a clean cabin of assigned trucks
In the unfortunate event of an accident, report to supervisor immediately
Do not reverse to an aircraft without a guide man
Monitor the loading of your trailer safely
Ensure each position if fully locked on the trailer
Immediately after being loaded, required to secure each position with supplied straps on your trailer prior to hauling back to cargo facility (Same applies when transporting cargo from cargo facility to aircraft)
Radio communication is crucial for the benefit of the operation. Required to respond to all radio transmissions
Drive cautiously. Take special precautions during inclement weather
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Must be in possession of aClass A MichiganDriver's License.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
Language, math, and reasoning skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence; speak clearly and effectively before employees and customers.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Employees must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Must have the ability to work in inclement weather.
