Scope of Position

EDF Renewables North America is a market-leading independent power producer and service provider with over 35 years of experience. This position oversees the Offshore Procurement and Contracts Management department. This position
manages, negotiates, and supports the administration of major EPC, equipment supply and logistics contracts
for EDF Renewables' offshore wind projects, leading a team of procurement and contracts management experts.

The ideal candidate has an in-depth knowledge of the offshore wind sector or US Offshore sector, experience in
negotiations, understanding of claim prevention and management and can perform quantitative and qualitative
analysis in the context of technology deployment and project development and implementation.

Responsibilities

Contract & Procurement


Prior to contracts execution:

    Track market trends and Road maps for technologies and services
  • Leads the team in the issuance of request-for-proposals (RFPs) related to the procurement of
    technologies/equipment and related services
  • Leads the negotiations of procurement contracts, including compiling and finalizing exhibits, and
    manages the day-to-day obligations associated with doing so
  • Makes recommendations as to which technologies should be contracted based on a levelized
    cost of energy (LCOE)
  • Works with the applicable internal stakeholders to develop product specifications, scopes of
    supply and technical specifications
  • Procures the key components as needed, ensuring that contracts are in place which mitigate the
    risk and minimize the cost of deploying these components

* Post contracts execution:

  • Serves as the main internal point-of-contact for the project team regarding the project
    implementation of the executed supply or services agreements
  • Works collaboratively with the project team and subject matter experts to develop product
    specifications, standards, and warranties that will be incorporated in supply contracts
  • Builds relationships with the key players within the offshore renewable energy industry to
    understand the commercial readiness of emerging technologies, the current and future price of
  • all technologies, and to communicate these components and the impact that these components
    will have on the LCOE to Senior Management
  • Leads and/or supports the negotiations for securing the supply of the major components for the
    project and delivers executed contracts that protect the company
  • Analyzes contract requirements, special provisions, and terms & conditions to ensure
    compliance with appropriate corporate policies and business unit procedures. Works with the
    Legal Department to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Performs executive level presentations of contract status and supplier/contractor performance
  • Assists in identification, development, and implementation of new contract policy and processes
  • Coordinates and manages the contractual interfaces between work packages
  • Drafts contract summaries, memorandums, reports, and documents

People Management

  • Manage and direct a group of Procurement and Contracts Managers and Contract Admin
  • Lead, mentor and provide oversight of assigned subordinate staff
  • Lead the development and full use of department tools, standards and procedures
  • Direct and participate in, promote, and maximize the use of, knowledge communities and other
    available resources
  • Anticipate and implement team skills development and growth in line with future markets, risks,
    technologies, and individual development plans
  • Demonstrate leadership of cross functional teams in a matrix organization.

Qualifications

Supervision of Others:

  • Oversees a team (10+ people) of Procurement and Contracts Management resources (Sr Managers,
    Managers and Administrative Support).
    Qualifications:
  • A minimum of fifteen years' experience in a procurement/purchasing role and be able to demonstrate
    direct experience in both development and negotiations of complex contracts and agreements for multibillions dollars projects.
    Education/Experience:
  • Master's degree in business administration or related discipline preferred.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Must be able to work well with geographically disperse, cross functional teams coordinating with
    development, implementation, operations, engineering, and project developers in a fast-paced
    environment
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple contractor relationships simultaneously
  • Must have proven organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple concurrent projects and track
    progress and needs of each project and provide accurate and timely updates
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Office 365, with emphasis on MS Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Strong leadership qualities to manage a team of procurement and contract management specialists
  • Outstanding interpersonal oral and written communication skills required

Physical Requirements:

Ability to travel every month for 3-5 days at a time.

Working Conditions:
Approximately 75% of the time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of MS
Word, PowerPoint, Excel), with the remaining approximate 25% of the time spent travelling to visit vendors,
project sites and to attend conferences.

This role's annual base salary range is between $165,525 and $270,875.
