Job Description
DescriptionMarriott San Diego Gaslamp is seeking an experienced server to join their team!
This position pays $16.85 per hour.
Candidates must have open flexibility to work from 3pm to 11:30pm and must be available to work weekends and holidays.

JOB DUTIES:
- Provide welcoming phone greeting and follow established guidelines for taking guest orders
- Convey menu information over the phone and give accurate estimate of delivery time
- Answer all questions about cooking methods, menu items, specials, and prices of all items
- Make food and beverage recommendations and apply suggestive selling techniques as appropriate
- Follow Marriott and Stanford Hotel standards for announcing self at the room, entering the guest room, and presenting the order and check
- Set-up and deliver all food and beverage orders; conduct periodic floor sweeps throughout shift to retrieve trays and maintain sanitation guidelines
- Perform all cash handling and room charge procedures in accordance with Marriott and Stanford Hotel policies
- Respond to customer needs, issues, comments, and problems to ensure a quality experience and enhance future sales; report all issues to shift supervisor
- Clean and restock service items and complete all shift side-work as assigned
- Set-up, deliver and retrieve amenities
- Service banquet rooms with BEO orders as needed
- Always dress with a smile
- Ensure total guest satisfaction
- Follow supervisor's instructions and perform other duties as directed or assigned
- Be knowledgeable in all hotel emergency procedures
- Be a Team Player and encourage the teamwork attitude among staff
- Attend department and inter-departmental meetings
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- At least 1 year customer service experience preferred
- Prior experience as a server required, preferably in a fast-paced environment
- Micros systems knowledge a plus
- Must be able to pass drug screening and background check
