The Role

As we continue to grow as one QuidelOrtho, we are seeking a Senior Manager, External Operations Supply Chain to lead global supply planning and purchasing for all third party manufactured finished goods (ExOps) - Americas. This position is responsible for the supply planning activities for medical diagnostics instruments, accessories and automation finished goods. The role includes managing a buying team responsible for leading the operational relationships with all ExOps suppliers - Americas.

This position is based in San Diego, CA.

The Responsibilities

  • Fully accountable for end-to-end supply chain planning for instruments, accessories and automation finished goods - Americas.

  • Responsibilities include translating an unconstrainted demand plan into a global supply plan incorporating inventory and distribution requirements, supplier lead times and capacity.

  • Determine constrained supply plans incorporating feedback from Suppliers, Procurement and the ExOps buying team.

  • Consistently follow the S&OP process to communicate and capture appropriate approvals for supplier production trade off decisions.

  • Lead role to anticipate, capture and assess variances to plan from the ExOps supply base.

  • Drive awareness of active supply issues clarifying business impact and lead/govern cross-functional developed resolution plans.

  • Own and manage a team of ExOps buyers responsible for working with all ExOps suppliers - Americas.

    • Lead operational relationships with ExOps suppliers.

    • Formulate production plans, in cooperation with Procurement and suppliers, to meet the supply plan requirements.

    • Govern supplier performance against the supply plan.

    • Initiate supply issue escalation protocol, as required.

    • Lead the execution of all purchase orders, maintaining alignment with global Procurement.

    • Responsible for assuring P2P excellence.

  • Develop and interpret metrics dashboard to measure supply assurance effectiveness and improvement opportunities.

  • Develop, lead and drive workstreams across business functions (Procurement, External Operations) to resolve short and long-term supply chain issues by providing relevant recommendation.

  • Regularly interact with planning management, procurement, engineering, suppliers, etc.

The Individual

Required:

  • A minimum of a BS degree in STEM.

  • 5-7+ years of related experience in procurement and/or supply chain planning.

  • High-level of proficiency in MS Office (e.g., MS Excel and MS PowerPoint).

  • Detail-oriented and excellent analytical skills.

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

  • Analytical skills and familiarity with a wide range of software solutions including enterprise resource planning (ERP), product life cycle management (PLM), manufacturing execution systems (MES), quality management systems (QMS), transportation management systems (TMS) and others.

  • Experience in sourcing, procurement, category management and supplier relationship management (SRM)

  • Supply chain network modeling skills and optimization experience

  • Experience working in manufacturing operations, medical diagnostics or device preferred.

  • New product introduction exposure.

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams

  • Contingency planning, business continuity management and risk mitigation experience.

  • Familiarity with legal and regulatory frameworks

  • 10-15% travel for this position.

  • Spanish Speaking preferred

Preferred:

  • An MBA/MS

  • A focused degree in Supply Chain, Finance or Operations

The Work Environment

The work environment characteristics are representative of office, laboratory, and manufacturing environment and may include handling of viral and bacterial hazards as well as infectious or potentially infectious bodily fluids, tissues and samples. Flexible work hours to meet project deadlines.

Position requires ability to lift up to30 lbs. onoccasion.Up to 60% of time in meetings, working with team and on the manufacturing floor; 40% of the time at the desk on computer, walking, standing or sitting extended periods of time, doing analytical work are routine to accomplish tasks in this role.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.Position requires use of Personal Protective Equipment as posted.

Salary Transparency

The salary range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, geography, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. At QuidelOrtho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary range for this position is $99,000 to $198,000 and is bonus eligible. QuidelOrtho offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, along with a 401(k) plan, employee assistance program, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, paid time off (including sick time), and paid Holidays. All benefits are non-contractual, and QuidelOrtho may amend, terminate, or enhance the benefits provided, as it deems appropriate.
