Overview

Oversight of the shipping, receiving and stockroom activities

Major Position Responsibilities
    Supervises personnel performing activities associated with shipping, receiving, inventory control and stockroom.
  • Provides resources and documentation to successfully pass customer audits, representing inventory control, and related functions/controls, as necessary.
  • Oversees daily cycle count activities and/or physical inventories.
  • Supervises, analyzes, organizes, plans, and administers day-to-day provisioning of materials, goods, labor, equipment, supplies and other requirements. Ensures they are delivered in good order at optimum time.
  • Identifies, prioritizes, and assesses key logistics assets and infrastructures. Develops logistics plans to enhance distribution of goods and supplies.
  • Ensures documentation and/or system transactions are executed as required.
  • Implements and executes continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provides input to department budget, identifies budget needs and/or reduction.
  • Ensures material received from suppliers is processed in accordance with established procedures and company policies.
  • Ensures materials are delivered to production buildings in a safe and timely manner.
  • Analyzes and manages inventory transactions to ensure accuracy.
  • Evaluates operational performance of the group.
  • Coordinates with Supply chain to provide data and participate in projects/teams to improve efficiency and effectiveness across both functional groups.
  • Monitors key performance metrics and reports to management team, as required.
  • Ensures all team members follow security and safety policies. Determine appropriate action beyond guidelines. Reports potentially unsafe conditions.
  • Oversees quarterly Excess &Obsolescence process to include generation of quarterly reports, dissemination required internal departments (Eng, QA, Planning and Purchasing) for review, physically removal of material from stocking locations and system transactions to remove material from ERP system.
  • Oversees the indirect material invoice receipts and invoice approval in Invoice Manager.
  • Ensures material balances are maintained accurately and all receipts and disbursements of material are accurate and consistent with established procedures.
  • Maintains required files of all receiving and shipping activities.
  • Reviews and revises, as necessary, standard operating procedure (SOP's) and Standard operating instructions (SOI's) to keep up to date and to train all employees.
  • Using company's operating system, receives and verifies finished products and work in process into inventory.
  • As required, prepares reports on quantity of goods in inventory and status of shipments throughout the month.
  • Processes freight invoices by performing dollar receipts transactions in the company operating system.
  • Reviews, revises, and approves purchase requisitions, as required.
  • Other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned.

Education /Experience:

Bachelor's degree in business administration, logistics, or similar discipline with a minimum of 2 years related experience; Associate's degree in a related discipline with a minimum of 4 years related experience; or 6 - 8 years related experience. Experience with an MRP system.

Language Ability:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay Range (USD)
Min $84,702.01 Mid $105,877.51 High $127,053.01
Additional Compensation
Hired applicant may be eligible to participate in the Company's Gain Sharing Program.
