The Opportunity

QuidelOrtho's Data Analytics organization is looking for a Master Data Management (MDM) Lead with hands-on experience delivering modern MDM technology. In this role, you will be guiding customers on their MDM journey through vision, design and delivery of the solution. You will provide technical guidance to other team members on quality delivery and best practices, mentoring and growth opportunities. The ideal candidate will look forward to being challenged and continuing to successfully grow, not only their technical skills but their business and consultative skills as well.

This is a highly collaborative role that works with all functions and business units and partners closely with the enterprise-wide data & analytics communities in developing new data- driven operating models and ensuring that the necessary data pipelines support our bold vision. Managing QuidelOrtho's information as a corporate asset requires the discipline of balancing the return and risk associated with information. As such, the MDM Lead's responsibilities are captured below. This job can be located in Raritan, NJ, Rochester, NY, or San Diego, CA.

The Responsibilities

  • Manage delivery of MDM engagement using Agile or Waterfall methodologies
  • Develop highly performant, reliable, and scalable MDM and Data Governance solutions for Customer, Product etc.
  • Coach and develop team members to overcome technological challenges
  • Communicate with business, IT and other entities to understand data ecosystem, business requirements and be able to translate those requirements to outline a solution
  • Provide industry or data domain thought leadership to cross-functional teams in the areas of advanced data techniques, including data modeling, data access, data integration, data visualization, data discovery, data quality, matching, survivorship, database design and implementation
  • Analysis, architecture, design and development of Enterprise Integrations and MDM software
  • Author, oversee and gain approval of design documents for projects assigned
  • Champion for change and adoption to promote a data-driven culture
  • Provide meaningful feedback and coaching of other team members to successfully overcome technological challenges

The Skills you have

  • Ability to clearly communicate technical details to business and management personnel
  • Expert knowledge of Master Data Management which includes:
    • Creating MDM strategies for large organizations, with the ability to confidently discuss requirements, priorities, potential solutions, and MDM architecture patterns
    • Gathering and documenting Master Data Management requirements
    • Thorough understanding of Data Management leading practices such as Match/Merge, Enrichment, Trust & Survivorship, Deduplication
    • Leading analysis, architecture, design and development of Master Data Management solutions
    • Thorough understanding of HUB architecture, Enterprise Integration and SOA
    • Expertise in Data Architecture and Modeling
  • Can articulate the business value of MDM and provide thought leadership within a domain or industry
  • Experience in designing, configuring, and deploying MDM solutions on a leading platform (Informatica, or Profisee, or Reltio, or Stibo, or Semarchy)
  • Hands on experience working with ETL tools (Informatica, MuleSoft, cloud-based)
  • Understanding of relational and non-relational database technology
  • Familiarity or experience with Azure, GCP or AWS cloud data architecture
  • Has experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies

Additional Skills

  • Expert with all aspects of program management and end-to-end data platform, data management, and data analytics delivery
  • Expert business development skills (structuring of complex enterprise solutions and proposals - significant comfort in presence with executives)

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, data science, business administration or equivalent discipline.
  • 10 or more years in the data guardianship space either in consulting or industry (Life-sciences preferred)
  • Ability to travel 25 %

Knowledge/Skills

  • Has been the delivery lead or delivery SME on multiple, full lifecycle MDM implementations (sales, proposal, delivery, and support) with a focus on Customer and Product domains.
  • Has helped integrate MDM solutions with other Data Guardian related technologies (e.g., data governance platforms, data catalogs and lineage, data quality and data privacy), and is familiar with leading tools in these spaces.
  • Has developed technical data strategies, enterprise data models and technical architecture patterns in support large data strategy, data management and analytical transformation programs
  • Has delivered Data Guardian data solutions in life sciences industry(preferred)
  • Has been viewed internally as a go-to MDM / Data Management expert
  • Has demonstrated ability to work and communicate with senior-level business leaders and potentially serve as a senior-level leader
  • Has history of working with Data Governance leads and stewardship bodies to implement and automate MDM services
  • Has collaboratively developed and standardized delivery services (e.g., methodology, benchmarks, templates, code) to simplify and streamline engagement delivery activities
  • Has led the development and management of communities of practice to help organizations build stronger and deeper relationships and competencies around Data Guardian topics.
  • Has mentored data guardian resources and contributed to developing career and training development plans
