Mid Level Network Engineer (Japan and Europe Travel)
Job Description
As a Mid Level Network Engineer for Effecture, an METI company, your job will be to ensure the continued maintenance and enhancement of features in the Navy Tactical Network. You will be faced with scaling the network, deploying new capabilities and technologies while maintaining legacy system support, and providing additional features necessary for the variety of Department of Defense (DoD) applications and services our customers demand.
Duties:
- Manage configuration of network equipment in test environment to ensure the lab is capable of replicating the production network for troubleshooting.
- Configure test environment with baseline configuration mirroring a production environment, troubleshoot reported issues, and provide recommended solutions.
- Engineer and support implementations of Navy tactical network infrastructures.
- Perform vulnerability scans and compliance verification on network equipment to maintain certification and accreditation.
- Develop and document test frameworks and lab infrastructures to ensure that testing is thorough, consistent, and repeatable.
Qualifications:
- Active Secret Clearance is required.
- CCNA and Security+ certification is required.
- 5 years of experience in a DoD system integration environment (Navy Tactical Networks/PEO C4I system experience desired).
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment and communicate technical concepts clearly.
- Willingness to learn and comprehend various technical environments and system configurations. .
- Requirements to support Japan locations: Linux (Ubuntu), Hyper-V, Windows Server, Viasat Encryption devices, C2P experience
- Requirements to support Black Sea locations: Sensor equipment (radar, camera, AIS, GPS,) and install experience
- A Valid U.S. Passport is required.
- Ability to travel to Europe and Asia as required.
